PRESS RELEASE
Tasmanian Irrigation Development Board goes with Weblogics suite.
Sydney, Australia, 1st September 2009
The newly formed Tasmanian Irrigation Development Board (TIDB) have selected Weblogics Intranet suite , Intralogic, EmaiLogic and BluePrint business automation and collaboration tools through reseller Zavanti, to manage its internal and external business processes. Zavanti also provides TIDB’s Accounting and ERP solutions.
The TIDB recently released details of its Midlands Water Scheme, which is the preferred option for delivering irrigation water to 78,000 ha farmland across the midlands region of Tasmania. This option comprises three separate schemes, each using a different water source; the Macquarie Settlement Pipeline, the South Esk Pipeline, and the Arthurs Lake Pipeline, and the development of Dams to provide water storage.
The new system will be used to manage the planning and construction of all infrastructure using project based and sub-project based communities falling within the irrigation scheme. The system will also be used to manage internal administration documentation and workflow to manage approval paths and governance.
ABOUT TIDB
By 2015 Tasmania will need an additional 250,000 megalitres (ML) of irrigation water per year. This represents an approximate 50% increase on existing irrigation supplies. As a result, the Tasmanian Government established the TIDB in 2008 to provide the high level drive and governance needed to deliver a major suite of water infrastructure projects, primarily the eleven irrigation schemes investigated under the SMART Farming proposal. The Board reports directly to the Minister for Primary Industries and Water.
